How Invisalign® Orthodontics Can Attractively Correct Your Teeth

If you are looking for a way to correct your teeth that doesn’t draw unnecessary attention, continue reading to learn more about Invisalign® orthodontics. Invisalign® orthodontics is a modern, attractive, and effective approach to straightening teeth.

The Benefits of Invisalign® Orthodontics

Invisalign® orthodontics has an exhaustive list of benefits, especially when compared to other more unsightly options. Custom-created aligners are comfortable to wear and invisible to others. Invisalign® orthodontics provides gradual, gentle straightening that won’t create persistent discomfort. You will not need to visit our office for adjustments that will leave you in discomfort for the next week. Since we pre-plan your entire straightening treatment with computer imaging, there will be no surprises, and you will know the final result will look like. The best aspects of the Invisalign® method are the lack of unsightly metal components and the convenient removability.

Since Invisalign® orthodontics does not require the use of any metal, you will not have to worry about your cheeks and lips being sore from abrasion. The removability allows you to eat and drink without worrying about things getting stuck in a complicated metal braces structure.

Some patients have concerns about discomfort during treatment. Our aligners do not cause nearly as much discomfort as metal braces would. If tenderness does occur, it will quickly fade within a few hours or a couple days. In most cases, you will only feel slight pressure and nothing more concerning.

Invisalign® treatment lengths vary depending on the state of your teeth prior to treatment. On average, adults will complete their Invisalign® orthodontics treatment in 12 months or less.

How Invisalign® Orthodontics Works

Invisalign® orthodontics involves the use of invisible, custom-created aligners that will be worn every day for at least 20 hours. You will receive the next progression of aligners every two weeks. These should be worn to advance your treatment. On occasion, you will visit our office so we can monitor your progressive results and determine whether or not you are wearing your aligners for appropriate lengths of time. You should only remove your aligners to brush and floss your teeth in the morning, the evening, and after meals. When you eat, you should also remove your aligners. If you have a special occasion coming up, talk with us about removing your aligner for a short period of time. Some patients remove aligners for weddings, graduations, etc. Since our aligners are invisible, you will be able to see your teeth straighten during each stage of treatment.
